Subject: My 2nd show!
I was all aglow from the previous night & downright giddy by the time I got into the coliseum. I'd found "the 70's bus" & sampled the delectable wares & goodies, but the best lot treat I sampled was my first "lot veggie burrito." I was turned onto all sorts of "herbal delights" from across the continent & by the time the band got going, I was ready to lose it & get down. The first set was damned awesome & being such a newbie, I had no clue of what was in store for the 2nd set. This recording captured just how flippin' sweet that Dark Star was & if we get to choose our own "heaven" or "nirvana," mine would be to go back to this night, if only for the 2nd set & just go bananas with everyone else when Branford Marsalis tweeted, honked, & blew our minds! Nassau Coliseum on "Lawn Guy Land" is a strange place to see a show due to the sheer diversity of people who converge at the place & the vibes the place had lended to my introduction to "shows" being hard to compare to. I had bought tix for all 3 shows, but after being exposed to all sorts of germy germs & cold, crappy weather, I had to bail out of the Friday show, but no regrets, this show sort of made up for all the shows I had been deprived of. Seriously, I think was the BEST SHOW EVER out of the 53 that I was able to catch before Jerry left us.
